Building on our last movie, we'll use Kinemac's 3D Animation Software to build your own version of Fox News' animated cube logo, but this time we'll add video and animated camera effects. Everyone and his cousin is using this effect on the web, so your spinning cube needs to be head and shoulders above all other rotating cubes out there. We'll sping your cube, add a video clip to one of the panels of the cube and create an animated camera as if we're flying around it. Very cool!

Recently I've been getting hounded by a LOT of folks who want to know how they can build an animated rotating cube. Fun, but overused and boring. Regardless, in this post I use Kinemac's 3D Animation Software to show you how to build your own version of Fox News' animated cube logo. Quite simple actually: We'll build a 3d cube and apply some images to the faces of the cube, ridiculously easy. Fast, easy and fun!

Using this ridiculously cool Mac-only application (sorry Windows folks!) you can quickly build out some incredible 3d objects, scenes, text and full blown animations. Years ago doing this kind of 3d work took a lot more effort, strained your computer's CPU and took forever. I mean, click the Render button then go to bed and it might have finished by the next morning. That's long since changed and I'll demo a few of the things I like about Kinemac. I've got big plans for this software....
